$50,000
2000 Forest River Windsong, project

Price:
$50,000
Financing:
Summary:
Used 2000 41,000 miles
Location:
Ontario, OR
Description:
Purchased it in 2006 - flood title (fresh water in Alabama campground). The plan was to bring it back to BC, restore it and use it in my retirement for travelling but; the government of British Columbia changed the rules and anything that was flooded can only be brought over for parts, it would make a great cottage. These units are still worth $25 to $50k today if in good shape. This unit is solid with two slide-outs and the undercarriage is in good shape.I cut the front out to allow it to be towed and still have the piece but the damage to the front and putting it back to proper shape will need a body man who is good with fibreglass. The motor, and I assume the transmission, will have to be replaced - I did have a price for both of $2200 plus shipping from Arizona RV salvage. I am not sure about the transmission but figured it would be better to replace both with a pair that are already married up from another unit.No rear bumper. The interior is in pretty good shape but could use an update - certainly a good cleaning. The interior rear tires are okay, the exterior ones should be replaced with a couple of used ones before it is towed away. The towing company that I used charged me $150/hour and were good enough for me to recommend.I do not know what works and what does not, I was going on the basics being good and going from there. I could not afford a unit like this one from the market, but given the time I could have done most of the work myself and had a top of the line motorhome.I have over $20k invested and certainly don't expect to get it back with the unit in its condition but would like to come close to $5000 - I will also consider trades. The motorhome is presently stored at Thrifty Storage in Ontario, Oregon, the fees are up to date and can be continued.I have lots of pictures that I can send if needed.I do not have a cell phone and don't expect to ever own one so texting and whatever else you do with them isn't something I am capable of so leave a message please, if I am not home - am and early evening is good - I am on PMT.I also have a 1998 Itasca that could use some tlc except for the diesel mortor and transmission which has only 41k miles. I replaced these when I thought I had a chance of bringing them both home but it can't come back over the border except for parts. I would like to get close to $10000 for this one, a picture including them both is attached.
