Potential rolling project. This had a reconditioned engine in May 2022 and I took the opportunityto upgrade it to a 2.5 turbo diesel. Standardthey come with a 2.5 diesel which is underpowered. Anyone who has driven one of these knows thathills can be a problem. The turbo doesn’tincrease the cruising speed (55- 60MPH) but does mean that you don’t get long queuesof traffic behind you on the hills. Thevan has done 222k kilometres but about 1500 on the current engine. This has the much sought after rear seating area thatconverts into a generous double bed and if you are feeling lazy, you can leaveit set up as a bed when travelling. Above the cabin there is a drop down bed that could sleep two smallpeople or one adult. There are only seatbelts for the driver and passenger so you would need additional belts fitted ifyou intend to travel with more that two of you. It can be done if done professionally. Fridge works on 12 volt only, not gas. Heater and boiler need servicing. I have not used these since I got it. Cooker works fine. I have owned this for two years, had some fun trips but needto sell as we are moving house and losing our storage. Good Bits It is an old Hymer. Classicdesign and looks. Reconditioned engine, Gearbox and Turbo, starts first timeand drives well all day. Bad Bits Brakes have no pressure. There is a leak from the rear nearside brake pipe which I have notinvestigated. They worked fine on mylast trip 6 months ago but she has been parked up since. First drive this year was a bit of a surprise! Bad diesel leak coming from fuel pump. Engine still runs well but it is pumping halfthe fuel out onto the road. Slight water leak which seems to be the top hose. Slight leak around one skylight. This needs taking out and resealing. I think it is still the original seal. This is an easy job for a competent DIYer. I did the other one myself in anafternoon. Needs welding for MOT which runs out at the end of May. I have been quoted £700. Still available at ListedBuy!
