This '49 Spartan Mansion was purchased about ten years ago to be used as a prop for a stationary food concession. Prior to acquisition It had sat in the same Rhode Island yard since new, and still rests on its original tires. The original interior panels were totally decayed and have been removed and replaced with fiberglass insulation and aluminum paneling. Seamless coin dot vinyl flooring was installed over a new plywood subfloor. The frame is solid, and a new a-frame and jack was added. Halogen mini-spots are recessed into the ceiling. All windows are intact and operational and covered by privacy curtains. The front panoramic windows were replaced but show some fading.The exterior has been polished and re-polished several times over the years and the aluminum skin surface is in generally good condition. With the hardest part already done, a re-polish should quickly and easily bring back the mirror finish. A porch roof of some sort had been attached to the curb side during its previous life by the ocean, and there are areas where the pitting in the surface is too deep to be polished out. Both doors are operable but show some oxidation and bubbling on the metal. Original glass lenses are in place at all corner markers and tail lights. The rear fold out window is the more desirable aluminum framed style. Original roof vent covers are in place. Overall this is a sound platform to build on. Should you have a similar use in mind, several HIGH QUALITY aluminum framed umbrellas, as well as tables and seating for approximately 25 are available at additional cost.
