1956 Aloha Beaver Canned-Ham Aluminum Camper

Summary:
Used 1956
Location:
Colorado Springs, CO
Description:

Slams to the ground sits on frame when camping and raises for travel. One of a kind. Super sweet. Custom wheel skirts. Rare opportunity. I’m listing this camper for sale as a ‘project’, but the projects are purely cosmetic - it's ready to camp in as it sits now!! Everything works and there are no leaks. This could easily be a 15k + trailer with a few things fixed. If I sell it now, someone ends up with a great deal because they have to finish it. I have several other projects I'm working on, and listing for sale, and as I finish them over the off season, the prices go up! I purchased this camper a few years ago from a man who lived in a north LA suburb. He owned it for a few years and had purchased it from the owner of a Los Angeles car shop who did the airbag lowering suspension and new exterior skin. He took it to local car shows towing it behind his lowered truck. On board 12v house battery powered air tank with VIAIR compressor and air bags that raise the camper about 12" for travel, then lowers it to the ground for camping.I have a clear and legal California title for this camper and a 1956 yellow and black California license plate. It’s 12’4” long plus 30” tongue, 81” wide. I don't know the exact weight, maneuverable and easy to tow, can store on driveway.I rebuilt the original propane lantern, the stove, the small fan, the icebox, and the old 110v lighting. I also installed a new 12v system including lighting and USB 12v chargers. I upgraded the water system and rebuilt the hand pump, (on board approx 20 gallon tank) and put in a double bed memory foam mattress. Table folds down to make another bed.I thought about replacing the interior wood, but it wasn’t a priority because it just doesn’t look that bad! There was prior water damage before the new aluminum skin was added, so some of the interior wood was replaced and he finish does not match. This is one of the ‘projects’ I was referring to. It has not leaked since. While working on it one day I dented the aluminum on one side and creased the aluminum lightly on the other side. This is the other ‘project’ I referred to. These two side pieces of aluminum would need to be pulled off and replaced, along with one window’s drip cap. See pics of damage. It's not huge damage and isn't really noticed from 20 feet away.Of course there’s other things that a new owner might want to do to improve/upgrade and make it their own - some of the things on my project list...build new table top because the old laminate has some damage, weld stabilizer jacks to frame (included) to use when it's fully lifted, paint front part of frame and propane holders, replace tow safety chains, build a screen door, change inside door handle to a locking one, add a fan to the ceiling vent, put in new carpet or tile, remount magazine holder... It's sold as-is with now warranty and I'll assist out of state buyers with shipping.Email with any questions you have - I have many more pics and a video that I'm happy to share...
