Hundreds of hours of work meticulously rebuilding and modifying this camper to get it ready for your next adventure. The focus of this build was to bring a vintage Airstream camper into the modern era with long lasting, high quality materials and keep it as light as possible to ensure it can be hauled by even light duty trucks without breaking a sweat. Easily towable by rigs with a 4-5k tow rating.The trailer began life as a 1962 Airstream Safari 22’, the shell has been disassembled and shortened to have an interior floor space of 7x9’. It has been changed from the traditional airstream camper around frame construction to camper mounted on trailer construction. By doing this the camper portion was built with its own structure and floor made of 1.5” square stock 6061 aluminum .125 wall that is integral to the rest of the camper, no possibility of floor rot with sinking or sagging corners that’s common on vintage airstreams. The secondary benefit of this change is an increased ceiling height of around 6’5” so it feels very spacious even for tall people. The floor is insulated with 1.5” radiant barrier foam and walls fully insulated with 1.5” 3M Thinsulate SM600L synthetic insulation.The trailer frame has been reinforced beneath the camper and tied into the deck-over flatbed which measures 12’ long by 90” wide. Flatbed size was made to accommodate the larger UTV’s, 2-3 snowmobiles, or ATV’s. 6 D-ring tie down points on deck. 6k rated 6’ aluminum ramp mounts underneath the deck for easy storage and access, its tri-fold design allows loading of anything you need from either the rear or sides.Trailer weighs 2650lbs total wet (diesel, water, propane full), tongue weight 500lbs, flatbed capacity 2350lbs max (under 2k would be more comfortable). Axle has been upgraded to 1965 style stronger 5k rated inner taper bearing design, at what point I'm not positive.It carries a clean Idaho title as a specially constructed designation. I would hope the level of finish and high quality materials would speak on their own as to the quality of this build but I know there are plenty of builds out there that look the part and aren't well researched or proven.
