Re listed due to buyer not having a way to pick it up. 1965 airstream safari twin model. Rare and very desirable as it can be towed with smaller SUVs.There have been several updates to this trailer, keeping its original 1965 charm, while at the same time, modernizing it in the best way possible : -New roof mount AC with heat pump-The entire subfloor in the back of the trailer at the bathroom was replaced, as well as some of the metal flooring supports. This model is very common to have a rot in the back of the trailer so we had to replace it. - The interior door skin was replaced, and the door jam was blocked properly to install a better door knob and lock-The plumbing lines have been updated to pex- new dometic toilet- brand new black water holding tank was fabricated and installed and the dump valve pole handle mechanism was repositioned to be on the inside of the trailer coming up out of the floor by the back of the toilet so it can be emptied without leaving the trailer if the tank gets full. - A custom vinyl RV skirt was fabricated with heavy chain at the bottom and designed to zip together and attached to the trailer down low with some turn locks. This allows for winter camping and prevents cold air from blowing underneath the trailer, causing your plumbing to freeze paid $2800Made by Sharps Tarps SLC . -A new front window “rock guard” was installed on the front window to protect it from rocks during trips. it also serves as an additional shade and privacy cover. This is a reproduction of the original, and is made very well and was expensive.-The trailer was polished about four years ago and would definitely polish up to a perfect mirror finish with a little effort-New propane, auto switching regulator for 2 tanks. Tanks included . -New Bosch electric 8 gallon water heater replaced the old 1965 electric water heater. -New vinyl waterproof flooring was just installed throughout the trailer-The bench seats near the front and side bed have been lined with speaker box carpet- The tires were replaced about four years ago, and the trailer was hardly ever towed as it has been rented stationary as a short term rental/Airbnb property averaging around $60 per night plus cleaning fee at 95% occupancy year-round in Salt Lake City and down by Zion national Park in southern Utah.-clear title-Several of the marker lights were replaced with LED models, there is a new magic chef mini fridge that works on AC power only -This fridge is a newer yet vintage style model, and looks great in the AirstreamThe original 1965 magic shaft, oven and stove. Top works on propane.There is a propane furnace, but it is disconnected from the propane tanks as we did not want to have Airbnb Guest ‘s trying to use the old original furnace to heat the space because we were not comfortable with safety concerns. Instead, electric oil filled heaters plugged into the outlet and were used to heat the trailer comfortably all season long, including through the winter months.- fan-tastic fan vent was installed on the roof. It is designed to operate on the DC low-voltage and we have a new inverter that brings the city power down to 12 V for that particular vent fan. However, we believe it needs a new fuse, because it stopped working. The vent can still be manually cracked open to allow air to vent out the top of the trailer when you’re showering or when you wish to cool off the space without running the AC unit on the roof.The bad:Some of the marker, lights, and Blinkers/brake lights need bulbs, the Astrodome sunroof cap came off in a wind storm, so we just have a piece of plexiglass cut and installed up there now. You can purchase a replacement Astrodome cover online. It might be a good idea to get the bearings, packed and regreased prior to driving long distances because it has been stationary as an Airbnb for a few years. I don’t have the keys to two of the small side trap doors, but a locksmith could easily make new keys for it. Some of the finish on the bathroom sink and bathtub is coming off and it’s time for it to be refinished using a similar product a Home Depot’s “Homax” tub and shower refinish. There are a few wood cabinet sides on the front bench and the galley side bed that could use replacing… but the good news is the old sides are still there and could easily be removed and used as templates to cut new pieces and reinstall them fresh and re-stain them to match. Some of the seals around the windows are some cracked, and when we tried to replace them in the past vintage trailer supply was out of that particular window trim, seal gasket material so we did not worry about it. This airstream is 48 years old . It’s not perfect but it’s perfect for someone to love it like we have. $500 non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours after end of auction via PayPal . Remaining balance by cash, money order , bank wire is due within 4 business days of the close of the auction. I can deliver it anywhere in the lower 48 states for an extra fee ( please message me for a quote ) or picked up in Salt Lake City Utah. Let me know if you want any additional photos or videos.
