1998 Coachman StarFlyte 'Class B' Camper Van

Price:
$500
Summary:
Used 1998
Location:
Ogden, UT
Description:

Upfor sale is our 1998 Coachman 'StarFlyte' Camper Van.In 1998 this was a veryluxurious Class B camper, with cab air conditioning in the front, and athermostatically controlled air conditioning in the back. Along with athermostatically controlled furnace in the coach area. Has seating for up toabout eight people in the coach area. And sleeps two comfortably but does have athird bed. However, my wife and I just leave the seating area in the backfolded down into a full bed for the two of us. (If your wife is about 5’6” ortaller, this wouldn’t be for you, as the kitchen area is right there!) It hastwo tables that can be set up for use or stored away. It also has a ‘safe’ inthe floor in the coach area. (I keep the key on my key ring) It has a toilet andshower together, and a sink for the bathroom area. A closet extends up to thesink. A microwave oven is located right above the closet.Opposite this area isthe kitchen/cooking area, with a stainless-steel sink, a two-burner propanestove top, with drawers and a refrigerator, that was put in new 3-4 years ago. Theyhave put a lot into a small area for convenience and comfort! The motorhome is21 feet long and its width allows you to park in most places in any parkinglot. It is easy to park and get in and out of any situation. That, we reallylove!Up front is a radiowith the small old cassette tape player. Works very well, however the radio is statickyat times. There is also another radio up by the door opening. The radio on itworks well, but the CD player I haven’t been able to get it to play. From thisradio, music can be directed to the two speakers in the coach; the two speakersoutside by the door under the full canopy; or all four speakers at once. The canopy iseasily rolled down with the crank that is included, or right back up whenfinished with it. The canopy is in very good condition with now tears at all. There is also an outside shower at the rear of the camper. This is great when you have grandchildren who have just been playing in thesand at the beach. It has dual wheels inthe back for stability and all six truck-grade tires are in excellentcondition. There are also new wheel covers for all four wheels. One of the really great features tothis camper is the Ford Triton V-10 engine. I can’t say enough good about thisengine! It always starts right up with no hesitation at all. Emission Tests arealways clean in all categories. In fact, more that once the technicians havecommented on how clean this is especially when considering how old the vehicleis. The title to this camperis a “Restored to Operation” title. The story on this is that this camper wasparked under a cover right next to the owner’s home in Oklahoma. There was a tornadothat came through the town and caused some damage to the camper, i.e... broken windowsand interior shades; dented the door on the driver’s side, (see photo); made some holes inthe fiberglass body in a few places; caused havoc with the fancy mural-type paintjob; and ruined the air-conditioning cover on top; and broken vents on the side ofthe camper. The generator does run; however, it is a little temperamental and needs some coaxing with a little stater fluid to get going. This is pretty much theextent of the damage to the camper. The insurance company considered it to notbe worth the cost to repair, replace, and especially to repaint where the sideshave two to three colors with the murals, so they basically totaled the camper. You can seefrom the photos that it looks pretty good. But with an up-close inspection ofthe camper, you can see that the murals and paint have been damaged some by thetornado. I have just had the front-end, steering, of the camper gone over. New sterring box and other components to make it much more stable out on the highway. I also just replaced the windshield. My wife and I haveenjoyed this camper very much for the last 7-8 years and have traveled fromCalifornia to the West and Nebraska to the East; Banff Canada to the North, andjust recently South, to the lower border of Arizona. For two people, it is just perfect! At least it has been for us.We are selling this camper because we are getting up in age, and some things just have to change in our lifestyle. We only have taken the Starflyte out in the summertime and have kept it in a lockedand covered garage out of the sun and weather. Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer. I will cooperate with a shipping company to assit in getting to a place for loading, if you choose to ship it.
