SOLD, 3/2024! Selling my Airstream 2022 Basecamp 16X with all options from the factory and a dramatically upgraded Victron Solar setup offering 410Ah of stored power! Boon Dockers Dream rig! First, for anyone looking to buy a Basecamp, be aware that in 2022 Air Steam finally solved the problem with the refrigerator. The new one only works on Propane BUT it is excellent! I've only taken my 16X on one trip since I finished the solar upgrade. All worked great and I dry camped for 10 days with no electricity. I am the second owner of this excellent condition 16X with all factory options that included the Factory Solar package, but it was useless. I sleep on a CPAP and I could not even get one night of use out of it. I did a full upgrade of the Airstream Solar option! Installed the Victron Energy MultiPlus II Battery Charger, Converter, and Inverter system that maintains a single 410Ah LiFePO4 battery. There is room to stack a second 410Ah LiPo4 battery to give a total of 820Ah of stored energy! Also upgraded to the Victron Smart MPPT solar charger, installed the Victron Lynx DC energy distribution panel, upgraded the Progressive Dynamics AC and DC distribution box, installed Marine Grade shore power AC cables from a power pole if you hook up to shore power, etc. All top-grade pure copper cables, etc, 2/0 used, Victron spec. Everything is the best money can buy. Camp anywhere! Includes Blue Ox/Airstream hitch and electric tongue lift! Also installed a backup camera! I have a never used 2000-watt Champion propane generator that can go with the trailer for an additional $500. I have only had time to take one 2-week trip since I finished all of my upgrades. Everything worked better than projected in spreadsheets during the planning stage. I never used the A/C or the microwave, just the ceiling fan when needed and to power my CPAP, and at the end of the trip I still had energy left. In short, you are free to camp anywhere you wish! Basecamp 16X has the Truma heater and improved propane frig, both worked great, I was very impressed with both! I live in NC and getting a campsite with electric hookup is near impossible, thus the justification for this expenditure. Selling it due to health issues, I'm 77 with a degenerative neuromuscular disease, but was a great summer project last summer! Come on over and look at it if you are seriously interested.
