1984 Diesel American Eagle Bus Right from the git- go we will tell u, that the only thing on this bus that's a 1984 is the frame/ chassis. To start with, this unit was stretched five feet buy a professional bus shop, and totally re-skinned, then given a brand new paint job. This cost was over $120,000.00. Then the bus had a brand new ( out of the crate ) 60 series Detroit installed against a totally rebuilt 4 gear automatic tranny.($ 35000+) (Bus is equipped with three stage jake brakes. Next all the wheel bearing and brakes were done up to the factory specs, (unit will stop very quickly). $2500 Next the bus was totally rewired, and a 8000 quiet onan gen set installed, right out of the box. It has the computerized twelve volt to 110 v automatic switching unit, and extra-long ext cord for the rv parks. We also put on a brand new hitch system, then had all wires to the trailer soldered, for a no problem connection. $13500 Next the bus floor was over laid with 3/4in ply-wood, and then over laid with a 3/4 stressed real oak tongue and groove floor. Had master carpenters install solid oak cabinets, fullsize bath-room shower unit. ( No small RV unit) 4 bunks with 110 to each bunk, and a beautiful master bedroom sweet, with a large closet, solid drawers under master bed, c/w 100 pound roller bearing slide rails. ( there was no short cuts done on this unit) its built army tough, and practical, not a plastic unit !! cost for the inside including all plumbing, and wood work, and upholstery was $60,000+. The investment in this bus was done to create a traveling machine that can run a million miles with just normal up keep. This is all i will say for now, if you're interested you will have to arrange to come see it.
