2001 Beaver Contessa 38’Brochure: http://cmrvs.com/01beaver/brochure.pdfRe-listed for non-payment! This is the hard part about selling anything. Just a reminder this is an auction. It’s the whole point of EBay. Win the auction pay for the item. If you need pictures, inspections, to look at it-this all happens before the auction ends. It is a good coach at a fair and reasonable price. None of the RVs are perfect-Even the new ones. I’ve owned two new RVs and both of them needed extensive work. Just like homes rvs need work and maintenance. “This one has good bones”..From the Inspector which was recently carried out by previous bidder.Never any leaks. Sound roof.No rust frame. All maintenance work done at Mainline Truck by Nick the rv technician.Newer tires 2018 code.Plumbing (city and holding tank) works great. Refrigerator/Freezer -10 130 degree hot water. Both air conditioners works greatGenerator keeps all the electrical working off grid. Both fantastic fans and all awnings works great with no rips. Further pictures and video for serious parties only. Offering to you today a very nice example of a Beaver Contessa. If you are not familiar with these coaches it is because they were manufactured on the west coast in Oregon. These coaches were a pinnacle coach and not manufactured on a line as many from Elkhart Indiana are. Beaver was a true coachwork company in that they manufactured their own frames which were bought by Frieghtliner. They also manufactured, in house the structure, cabinets, and interiors all in-house. “Real wood” means all wood on all sides as compared to today's coaches who have real wood styles and cabinet doors that are comprised of compressed paper carcasses. There is real tile - not laminate floors - along with Corian counters. There is also a 4 door rv refrigerator with an ice maker. I like these RV refrigerator units in the fact that you can use propane while staying off the grid whereas coaches with residential refrigerators have to be supplied with 110 volts continuously. With all of this solid wood trim and doors, the coach is more akin to high end sailing yachts. Instead of using forced air furnaces and propane this coach has a hot water system called Aquahot that serves as hydronic heat, infinite hot water (as long as the water supply is available), and engine preheat. These units are nice, reducing condensation dramatically in the cold. What is also nice is that after a day of driving the engine has heated up the water for you to take a nice hot shower without firing up the system at all. Speaking of which, there is a full standup shower that is more residential than an rv plastic shower. There is a separate privy room with a ceramic toilet and fantastic fan behind a solid oak door with real brass hardware. Also included, is a A combination washer/dryer unit to alleviate finding a laundromat during your travels. Closet, drawer and storage space is more than ample. Keeping it all cool are two different independent air conditioners with separate thermostats. One thing that this coach has that I looked for is a single slide. The reason? This opens up access to smaller campsites while still being long enough to include removing the kitchen and leather couch out of the living space. Also, the problems that twin slides create is the lack of room under the motorized awning. If you look at a quad slide most of the awning space is taken up with the slide leaving you about two feet of shade. The upholstery shows very minimal signs of wear for the age. Although not perfect, it is still very appealing, supple, and very soft. System upgrades include the “Magnum” suit of inverters, battery isolators, and generator control systems. Why Magnum? They are a company that allows the end user to replace parts if a problem occurs. Other systems like Xantrex are proprietary and fuse their parts together. In the event of failure the system needs to be replaced, not just the part. (Magnum MS-2012, MS-ARC Controller, ME-SBC Smart battery combiner, ME-AGS. Generator Start Module.) The entire system is new. There is also a solar panel keeping things charged with when boondocking. The motor is a 3126 Caterpillar 330 HP engine and with a 6 speed Allison Transmission. The engine has had the valves adjusted, injectors serviced, the ECU updated (complete CAT service history on the ECU). There is insulation on the turbo and exhaust manifold for better efficiency and heat reduction. House and coach batteries are barely used Interstates. In addition, there are also 6 tires with only the miles from Oregon to Ohio where the coach was located originally. This coach has 134,000 miles total which is low but not unused. The coach, rust wise, is in near perfect shape coming from the arid side of Oregon. There isn’t a nut or bolt that you can’t break loose and spin it out with your fingers. Also, the dash air works. (Many of the older coaches’ dash air isn’t serviced because of the length and expense of the AC lines running from the pusher to the front of the coach.) So why get rid of such a nice coach? Plans changed. Within 24 hours of arriving home from Oregon with the coach my wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer which changed everything. I have, actually, only spent one night in the coach driving back across the country. As such, there is zero wear from us. It has never seen an Ohio winter since it is stored in a climate controlled storage facility from October to through April every year. Chassis, Suspension, Engine:ALL work documented-completed at Mainline RV and Truck service Proper four wheel alignmentAll Suspension bushings checked or replaced. Steering damper added in case of front tire blowout. Anti lean valves installed in all 8 airbags. Brakes (4 wheel disk air over hydraulic) servicedBelts, hoses, air filter, and oil changedBelts, hoses, air filter and oil changed on the 7500 watt Onan QD.Steering box stabilizer added. New parts and accessories:6 new Toyo Tires (2019)Koni Shocks (8)New Tail Lights and Turn signal housings. Gas Struts for all under coach storage doors.Gas struts for the bed cover (Engine Compartment)Seat belt risers.Air conditioning vents. (Ac units cleaned and serviced)Magnum charging, inverter, generator controls (Magnum MS-2012, MS-ARC Controller, ME-SBC Smart battery combiner, ME-AGS. Generator Start Module.)Attention Areas:Something must have gotten on two of the outside storage doors. Clear coat is peeling on these two areas alone! Not sure what happened, the rest of the coach is stellar. There is no current convection oven/microwave. I took it out in the modernization process and haven’t had the time to replace it.There are no levelers for this unit. In a few of the years that Beaver was being acquired by Monico they put in a system of hydraulic units that were stamped and were not serviceable. The computer, pumps, and lines are there but as one of the rams leaked and settled the unit would not move. I would either replace the rams (with serviceable units) or goto BigFoot, HWH for their air leveler units. The control system there just needs plumbing. That is it. Full disclosure. I tried but am just not seeing myself using the unit. Take a look at the pictures and see what you think. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle, and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely.
